The Butterfly Experience

So I truly do think of my journey through life as a butterfly experience. For so long I slowly crept along like a Caterpillar, not really living just existing. Tryin to get from one place to the next. No direction and feeling ugly and unimportant.

My years of darkness were like a cocoon where I was trapped in my own personal hell. Although God could have broken it open and saved me, He knew I had to be shaped and formed until the right time when I could emerge and become what he created me to be.
Honestly, sometimes I want to crawl back in that cocoon where I can hide and no one can see me. But it's at  those times when my Jesus whispers in my ear: I created you to soar on my strength and when we fly together, no one will ever be able to clip your wings.

When I keep my eyes on Jesus, like Peter, I won't sink. Instead I will flutter and fly and experience the sweet nectar of the life God has blessed me with. The old me (Caterpillar) is gone. I have been transformed and made new (Butterfly)!
